How To Choose A Wall Mirror Size

Choosing the right size for a wall mirror depends on the space and the desired effect. Proportions are key: a mirror should complement the room’s dimensions, not overpower or look too small for the wall. For smaller rooms, opt for a medium-sized mirror (around 24" to 36" in diameter or width) to avoid overwhelming the space. In larger rooms or above a sofa or fireplace, a larger mirror (36" to 60") can make a statement and add visual depth. When hanging a mirror above furniture, it’s best to choose one that is about half to two-thirds the width of the furniture piece for a balanced look. Additionally, consider the height at which to hang it: for eye-level viewing, the center of the mirror should be about 5 to 6 feet from the floor. For a more symmetrical design, choose a rectangular or square mirror. Lastly, think about the mirror's purpose—whether it’s functional for checking your reflection or primarily decorative—and choose accordingly.
